Sartorius and ExpediteBio Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Accelerate Antibody Therapeutics Development

Collaboration aims to support biotech innovators with integrated capabilities from development to early clinical validation.

Woubrugge, the Netherlands, March 20th, 2026 — ExpediteBio and Sartorius today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on accelerating the development, manufacturing, and early clinical validation of innovative antibody-based therapeutics.

The agreement formalizes a joint effort to support third-party biotech innovators, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), by combining Sartorius’s leading bioprocessing technologies and expertise with ExpediteBio’s capabilities in de-risking antibody development and generating early clinical evidence.

Through this collaboration, the companies aim to:

  • Enable faster and more cost-effective routes to proof of concept for SMEs developing therapeutic antibody-based therapies

  • Support preclinical and early-phase programs through small-scale, GMP-ready processes

  • Strengthen the biotech innovation ecosystem in the Netherlands and internationally

“SMEs are driving some of the most exciting innovation in antibody therapeutics, but they often face capacity, time, and cost barriers on the path to first-in-human studies,” said Richard van Rijnsoever, CEO and Co-founder of ExpediteBio. “Through our collaboration with Sartorius, we aim to lower those barriers by providing scalable technologies, deep process expertise, and an ecosystem that helps promising candidates reach clinical evaluation faster.”

Debby Vermeer-Kruijsen, Chief Strategic Alliance Officer and Co-founder of ExpediteBio, added: “This collaboration reflects our commitment to building strong strategic partnerships that meaningfully accelerate innovation. By aligning complementary expertise and infrastructure, we can better support biotech companies in navigating early development challenges and advancing high-potential antibody programs toward clinical validation.”

With support from Sartorius, ExpediteBio intends to offer integrated solutions spanning cell line development, process development, and early GMP manufacturing. The collaboration is designed to streamline development pathways and help promising antibody candidates reach clinical trials—and ultimately patients—more efficiently.
